Youth Club Volunteer

Volunteering with the youth club has allowed me to learn so much about deaf culture and improve my BSL, as well as being a lot of fun! I think the best thing is meeting new people - whether that's the awesome mix of youthful characters themselves or the various staff, everyone has been so friendly and supportive. As a hearing person, everyone's been really gracious and patient in helping me with my limited BSL whilst still feeling like I can contribute to the evening and build great relationships

Remark! Community Volunteer

I have been volunteering for remark since July 2017. I am a current BSL Level 3  student at Remark!. Volunteering helps me with my confidence in signing outside class. The kids are very welcoming and patient, I always ask them to sign again when I don't understand and they do it very genuinely. We do different activities every week and if we have a good skill or knowledge we can always share it with them. They are very responsive.
