Remark! Community News Update
Remark! Community have had a busy couple months. Firstly our Summer Play Schemes in both North and South London were action packed with lots of different activities including Crazy Golf, swimming, played badminton, trampolining and bowling.
We had around 30 children in both North and South London playschemes and it was fantastic to have both groups meet up so everyone was able to make new friends from different schools and areas.
Our Remarkable! Club is a weekly club for Deaf adults aged over 18. We encourage members to come on trips and meet new friends and socialise which prevents them having to stay isolated at home on their own. Our recent trips have included the Shard and crazy golf with lots more planned for the future.
The Remark! Community Youth Club started up again after the summer break. There’s lots planned for the coming weeks including cooking sessions, workshops, pool and table tennis tournaments. We have 20-25 youths attend our Youth Club every week. They always have lots of fun and enjoy socialising with others and learning from our workshops.
Our other project to update you all on is our lunch clubs in South London which are aimed at older people, who want to socialise and reduce their isolation at home. We have 2 lunch clubs, one in Eltham every Monday and one in Beckenham every Thursday each with around 25 – 30 members attending each week. At each club we provide brilliant lunches and tea and coffee whilst everyone is enjoying chatting, playing games, walks and exercise. Occasionally we also go on trips, and coming up we have a trip planned to Southend seaside.
Last but not least is to tell you about the Christmas party that’s coming up on Saturday 8th December. We will provide more details nearer the time but just be sure you keep that date in your diary.
