Lunch Clubs

Our Lunch Clubs are social clubs for Deaf people aged 55 and over. Deaf people in that age group can often find themselves isolated and secluded from society. Our lunch clubs bring them together and promote physical and mental wellbeing through games, trips and activities, and provide important educational workshops. They also offer a free basic advocacy service to support members with their personal administration, such as making phone calls and writing letters. We have three weekly lunch clubs operating across London: Eltham, Camden, and Harrow.

Suggested donation: £3 for Lunch & Tea/Coffee as a minimum, but please feel free to donate any amount to help us keep going.

I enjoy coming to lunch club because it’s good to relax,
see my friends and socialise.
We’ve recently moved to a new hall which is nice and spacious.
The volunteers are also lovely and friendly. I’m very happy here.

Parent & Children Group

Our Parent & Children Group, funded by The National Lottery Awards for All, is a vibrant initiative supporting London's Deaf community, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for families with young children. This is one of two of our clubs that allow hearing members, welcoming both hearing parents of Deaf children and hearing children of Deaf adults (CODAs).

Through a variety of monthly activities, including group trips around London and BSL social sessions at Remark! Farringdon, the group fosters a sense of belonging and cultural identity. It also offers educational workshops and weekly one-on-one advocacy, ensuring individual attention and empowerment. This comprehensive support system aims to enhance the educational and social development of Deaf children, support Deaf parents to fulfill their caregiving potential, and allow their hearing family members to become involved in the community.
