Mail, Rails, and Remarkable! Club Tales

All aboard!  Remarkable! Club took a trip to the Postal Museum where they got the opportunity to board the once abandoned Mail Rail, which took them on a journey of the history of Mail, underground the streets of London. Accompanied by incredible visuals, and travelling through dark tunnels, the group were fascinated.

A quick pit stops at the café for some delicious cake, before the guided tour through museum began. Here the group got to see one of the original Coaches used to transport mail; the once-once blue post boxes used to transport mail across the globe; try on a postal service unform (we thought they looked very smart!) and learn about how our postal service began.

After viewing the original Penny Black stamps, on the guided tour, the group got to try their hand at designing their own stamps. Unfortunately, none of the designs have caught on…

A massive thank you to the staff at the Postal Museum, Farringdon, who were so gracious in sharing their knowledge, and who took the time to answer all our questions. It was greatly appreciated by all.
