Remark! Community Launches New Advocacy Service

Remark! Community is thrilled to announce the launch of our new dedicated advocacy service for Deaf people in London.

Our new Deaf Advocate, Sarah, will be available at our offices in Farringdon every Monday and Friday. from 9:30am to 1pm she will be operating a drop in clinic, where clients will be traiged to assess the level of support they require. Alternatively, from 1pm Sarah will take appointments, so we can be flexible around your schedule.

Deaf people face many barriers, and we are here to assist with many areas with which people regularly struggle, such as:

  • Translating complicated letters

  • Making important phone calls

  • Debt support

  • Making and tracking formal medical complaints (e.g. PALS)

  • HMRC and tax

  • Benefits and housing

Our advocacy service is designed to help the Deaf community access support that hearing people can easily find information for. Support is provided in BSL to suit your communication needs, and a qualified communication support worker will be present to assist with phone calls and other English translation tasks.

To book an appointment, or if you would like more information, please email sarah.rahman@remark.uk.com.
